
İpek Kurtoğlu Fırat is the Founder of Acacia Futures, a boutique advisory firm supporting companies, governments, and international initiatives in navigating the transition toward sustainable product systems and climate-aligned value chains. Her work focuses on translating complex sustainability regulations and environmental footprint methodologies into practical strategies for industry transformation.
With over a decade of experience in sustainability and product policy, İpek works across multiple sectors, with a particular focus on the textile and apparel industry. Her expertise spans life-cycle assessment, product environmental footprint methodologies, and the implementation of emerging EU sustainability frameworks.
She previously held senior sustainability and product impact roles at H&M Group, where she contributed to the development and application of environmental footprint methodologies and cross-industry sustainability initiatives.
Among the projects she is currently involved in is the EU-funded project “EU-Türkiye Sustainable Industry Transformation in the Key Sectors of Apparel, Textile, Chemical and International Transport,” where she serves as a Key Expert contributing to analytical and policy work related to environmental footprint methodologies, value-chain transformation, and alignment with emerging EU sustainability frameworks such as the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation, Product Environmental Footprint and Digital Product Passports.
Through her work, she brings together policy, science, and business perspectives to support credible and scalable sustainability transitions.
