Ferrari has made a bold entry into the electric vehicle market with the unveiling of the Luce, a five-seat hatchback that departs from the brand’s traditional design philosophy. Developed in collaboration with the LoveFrom design studio, the new model is powered by four electric motors delivering a combined 1,050 horsepower and a 122 kWh battery pack. Offering a driving range of approximately 530 kilometers, the Luce accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 310 km/h. Built using recycled aluminum alloys, the vehicle’s manufacturing process is designed to reduce CO2 emissions by 70%, reflecting Ferrari’s commitment to sustainable innovation and technological transformation.
The Luce incorporates more than 60 newly patented technologies while preserving the engaging driving dynamics that define Ferrari’s sports cars. Its exterior features a seamless design in which the windshield flows into the hood, rear-hinged doors, and uniquely positioned side-mounted windshield wipers. Inside, the cabin includes a steering wheel made from recycled aluminum, a dashboard equipped with Samsung OLED displays, and a center console crafted from durable Gorilla Glass. A distinctive E-ink system also projects Ferrari’s iconic yellow prancing horse emblem onto the drive selector when the key is inserted.
To preserve the emotional character traditionally associated with Ferrari vehicles, engineers developed an innovative sound system that captures natural mechanical vibrations through a sensor mounted on the rear axle. These vibrations are processed and amplified through the vehicle’s speakers, creating a unique acoustic experience inspired by the sound of an electric guitar. Vehicle performance is managed by an advanced control unit capable of updating driving parameters 200 times per second. According to Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna, the Luce combines high-performance engineering with everyday comfort, expanding Ferrari’s technological capabilities while meeting the evolving expectations of modern drivers.
