Dr Atiq Zaman is an internationally renowned expert in zero waste and circular economy practices and the Founding Co-Director of the Global South Nexus (GSN). He is a member of the UN Council of Engineers for the Energy Transition (CEET). Dr Zaman has published over 80 peer-reviewed outputs, including authored and edited books, journal articles, and industry, technical, and policy reports. His contributions have earned him the title of the world’s top zero-waste expert, according to ScholarGPS, and a place in the world’s top 2% of scientists, according to Stanford/Elsevier. His forthcoming co-edited handbook, “Circular Economy: Theories, Metrics, and Global Practices”, is scheduled for publication with Routledge in 2026.
