
Sedef Budak is a renewable energy expert, C-suite executive, and entrepreneur with 25 years of professional experience, including 18 years in the renewable energy sector. She is widely recognised for her leadership in driving Türkiye’s energy transition, advancing gender equality, and building cross-border collaborations in the clean energy industry.
She is the Founder of pioneering women’s initiatives in the Turkish renewable energy ecosystem, including: Turkish Women in Renewables and Energy Network (TWRE) – Founded in 2018, connecting over 4,300 women in energy transition, sustainability, and circularity. Green Collar Women Association (YEYKAD) – Established in 2022 as the only association in Türkiye dedicated to women’s inclusion, capacity building, and empowerment for the energy transition and net-zero goals.
She currently serves her second term as President (2025–2028) of YEYKAD, advocating for women’s leadership, inclusion, and policy impact through education, mentorship, and strategic partnerships. Sedef is also listed as an Independent Director Candidate for the 30% Club, committed to advancing board-level gender balance and corporate sustainability. With a proven record of sustainable business growth, she bridges technical insight with strategic leadership, unlocking opportunities in wind, solar, hybrid, and climate tech sectors. She is also a member of the Turkish Wind Energy Association, Solar Industry Association and Global Women’s Network for Energy Transition.
