Damla Korkmaz

Damla Korkmaz is an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) leader working at the intersection of industrial sustainability, safety leadership and climate action. With a background in Environmental Engineering, she focuses on translating sustainability strategies into practical and measurable impact within industrial operations.
She began her career in textile, metal and consumer goods manufacturing sectors, gaining broad experience in environmental and safety management across different industrial environments. She later joined PepsiCo during the start-up phase of the Manisa Plant, where she played a key role in establishing environmental management systems and strengthening regulatory compliance frameworks.
Today, she leads EHS at PepsiCo’s Manisa Plant in Türkiye, focusing on strengthening safety culture, improving environmental performance and accelerating sustainable operations. Her work demonstrates how environmental and safety systems can serve as drivers of operational excellence and business value, rather than purely compliance functions.
She led the implementation of a biomethanization project that converts organic waste into renewable energy, contributing to industrial decarbonization and energy transition. She also developed the “Safer Together” program, a safety culture initiative designed to strengthen engagement and ownership across the shop floor.
Damla’s work focuses on bridging the gap between strategy and execution, showing how climate action, safety leadership and sustainable operations can reinforce each other to create long-term industrial value.
