Ömer Özkan

Dr. Ömer Özkan is a senior quality systems and lean management professional with over 20 years of experience across the energy, oil & gas, automotive, manufacturing, and services sectors. His work focuses on leveraging innovation-driven quality and sustainability practices, together with circular economy and continuous improvement, to strengthen organizational resilience and long-term value creation.

He is actively involved in quality management standardization within sustainability initiatives and currently serves as the Chair of the MTC 184 Mirror Committee in Türkiye, established for the development of the ISO 59000 Circular Economy standards series. Dr. Özkan has extensive expertise in the design, implementation, and integration of sustainability-enabling management systems, including ISO 50001 (Energy Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 14064 (Greenhouse Gas Emissions Quantification and Reporting), ISO 20400 (Sustainable Procurement), ISO 20121 (Sustainable Event Management), ISO 26000 (Social Responsibility), and other related international standards.

Dr. Özkan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and completed his Master’s and PhD in Business Administration. He is the recipient of the 2025 European Quality Leader (EQL) Award from the European Organization for Quality (EOQ)—the first executive from Türkiye to receive this distinction. He is also the first professional from Türkiye admitted to the International Academy for Quality (IAQ).

In addition, he serves as a member of the Award Executive Committee of the Turkish Society for Quality (KalDer) and as a Steering Committee Member of the Kaizen Awards Process at the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers, İzmir Branch.
