FC Bayern Munich and Longi Form Solar Energy Partnership

During its pre-season tour in Southeast Asia, FC Bayern Munich announced a new sponsorship agreement with solar module manufacturer Longi. Launched under the slogan “Power on, Game on,” the partnership plans to introduce joint fan engagements and community initiatives. The club is also evaluating opportunities to integrate Longi’s solar energy technologies into its training facilities and stadium infrastructure. This alliance stands out as the latest example of long-standing collaborations between German football clubs and the photovoltaic sector.

While the full operational details of the collaboration between FC Bayern Munich and Longi have yet to be finalized, both entities aim to reinforce the partnership through joint campaigns and shared media content. With this step, club leadership reaffirms its commitment to implementing solar energy solutions across its operational facilities.

The history between German football clubs and solar energy enterprises extends back more than a decade. Between 2011 and 2014, FC Bayern Munich partnered with Yingli Solar, an initiative that included installing a 29 kW photovoltaic system on the roof of its training facility at Säbener Straße. Similarly, Bayer Leverkusen competed in jerseys featuring the SunPower logo from 2011 to 2013, while clubs such as VfB Stuttgart and TSG Hoffenheim have held various sponsorship arrangements with HEP Solar.

For Longi, this agreement is not its first foray into the German sporting arena. The manufacturer previously signed on as an official partner of the Berlin Marathon for its 2026 edition. This new collaboration underscores how the solar energy sector continues to expand its global visibility across mainstream sports.
