
Evin Sungun is a business development and stakeholder engagement expert with over a decade of experience in renewables, forging partnerships between industry and academia.
She previously led the British Government’s COP26 Presidency and government-to-government (G2G) engagement in the southeastern states of the USA, delivering multiple initiatives on adaptation & resilience, decarbonizing the maritime industry and green finance. She then worked in the North American Clean Energy team at the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), focusing on zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs), offshore wind and waste-to-energy during the implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)—a $400 billion investment law by the US Government aimed at accelerating the clean energy transition.
She also brings a substantial network and valuable experience from her time working for the Australian Government in Istanbul, where she focused on international education and academic partnerships, both of which are pivotal to energy security. She recently launched a consultancy project, Smart International Consultancy, to foster strategic partnerships and meaningful dialogue between institutions and state and federal governments of Australia and New Zealand, leading up to COP31 in Antalya, Türkiye.
