
Dr. Zafar Said is a Distinguished Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). He is an internationally recognized expert in renewable energy systems, solar energy technologies, energy storage, and AI-driven optimization, with research aligned to climate mitigation, sustainable development, and the energy transition. His work supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDGs 7 (Clean Energy), 9 (Innovation), 11 (Sustainable Cities), and 13 (Climate Action). Dr. Said has authored over 300 peer-reviewed publications and holds multiple granted international patents in clean energy technologies. He is consistently ranked among the World’s Top 2% Scientists in Energy and has received several prestigious awards for research excellence, sustainability, and innovation. Dr. Said actively contributes to global climate and energy discourse through policy-relevant research, advisory roles, and invited keynote and plenary engagements.
