Dr. Nadia Dahmani is an Assistant Professor at the College of Technological Innovation, Zayed University, Abu Dhabi, UAE, whose research applies artificial intelligence and optimization methods to advance climate action and decarbonization. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science Applied to Business from a joint program between ISG Business School (University of Tunis, Tunisia) and INRIA Lille (France).
Dr. Dahmani currently serves as Principal Investigator on a 2025–2027 government-funded research grant, “AI-Driven Solutions for Sustainable Development: Reducing CO2 Emissions in Key Sectors,” which develops intelligent optimization techniques to lower emissions across energy, transportation, and industrial systems. Her research extends this agenda at both the macroeconomic and technical levels: a study of economic complexity and CO2 emissions across Gulf Cooperation Council countries examines how institutional quality shapes the link between economic sophistication and emissions outcomes (Development and Sustainability in Economics and Finance, 2026), while a systematic review at the intersection of air quality and public health evaluates how federated learning, distributed ledger technologies, and explainable AI can enable trustworthy, privacy-preserving environmental monitoring systems (Environmental Research Communications, 2026).
Beyond her published research, she has led community-driven environmental initiatives in the UAE, including local conservation and sustainable waste management projects, and regularly shares her work on AI and sustainability at public forums. She is a member of the environment agency, bringing a decade of experience translating advanced computational methods into practical tools for climate-relevant decision-making.
